I thought they were still coming back to finish cleaning, instead Jared came on Sunday, said they were done. A board on my gate was broken in half due to them removing it to use the bobcat and propping it up. Including removing the wood posts around a front planter and leaving them laying. These are the pictures of the 'clean up'. He wanted to dump the 20 tons of rock on my driveway, I refused because I did not want it cracking more. They showed up on a Saturday to finally finish, they were 'cleaning the front yard' where we had dumped the new rock on tarps. Then a week later, my rake was missing and my push broom. Then a few days later, Jared was in his truck I was talking to him and saw my power pole saw in the back of his truck!! I asked him why he had it "oops, it was a mistake". I told Jared, he went and got them and brought them back to me, said it was a mistake, wasn't on purpose. I went out to plant some shrubs one Sunday, both of my shovels were missing. I allowed them to use my garden tools, which I now regret!! I was just anxious to get the job done. I'm now finding he apparently did use seed too, I have new grass coming up in my new flower beds!! Parts of it were brown, he arrogated and fertilized it. I told him I did not want seed because I had done that and the winds blew it into flower beds, into the rock, etc. I also had him replace a small area of grass with new sod. I already have weeds coming thru!! Part of my reason to have my yard done was so I wouldn't have to pull weeds. I went out one evening after they left and discovered they had tacked down the weed protector over the rock and some of the rock had weeds and grass in it, the black plastic was still there!! I showed it to Jared, told him the reason I hired him was because he told me he would pull up all the rock down to the plastic, and remove the plastic, why was he not doing the same on the west side? So he had his guys dig down and just pull up the black plastic, leaving much of the original rock, cover it and put the new rock. I had saved for 3 yrs and wanted it done right. He still refused, to use the bobcat to do it properly. I personally dug to expose the pipe so they could use the bobcat. It mostly ran down the fence about 3 ft out, with one pipe going across the yard to other planting areas. He brought the bobcat, but later I found out he refused to do the same cleaning on the west side of my yard because I had an drip and sprinkler system installed. I agreed to take the post down and have him complete my yard. He said my post was killing his business. I had posted pics of what my yard looked like after 3 weeks. Jared showed up at my door with what I thought was a sincere apology saying he wanted to complete my yard. It was starting to look like other jobs were more important, I got upset and fired them. Then different guys were showing up hand raking, occasionally using the bobcat, when it seemed like when they were finally making progress, Jared would come get the bobcat because 'he needed it at a different job". Then they showed up again and worked, I wish I had taken notes on what days and times they worked, in hindsight. Then Jared came and got the bobcat they didn't come for a few days. ![]() Removing all the rock down to the black plastic and removing evasive roots that were being exposed. They came back the next day and worked some more with the bobcat, they were doing a great job. Then 2 other guys came, the other crew left, one used the bobcat and worked until 8 pm. It started the end of March, he sent a crew to rake around the fence, etc to the middle of the yard and brought a bobcat. ![]() The following weekend I went out to rake and clean the west side and realized the grass seed I had used in my small plot of grass had blown into the rocks and it was spreading so I decided to 'bite the bullet' and have them do the full yard. Originally I was just going to do the east side of my yard and that is what I got the original estimate on. I originally had thought of hiring my 2 grandsons and some of their high school friends, when Jared showed me how much would have to be removed I decided it might be too much, so I went ahead and hired Lone Wolfscapes. I'm sure this was the original landscaping, my home was built in 1979, so it was needing an update. On my original meeting with Jared to replace the rock in my backyard, he showed me that in some area's it was as much as 4 inches down to the black plastic. Suggestion: if you get an estimate, do not accept a vague one, get in writing exactly what they are paying for and what they will and won't do. It took about 6 weeks to complete my backyard. These are pics of the "clean up" in my front yard by Lone Wolfscapes.
